On April 27, 2009 EQ held their semi annual Job Fair. Employers from area salons were invited to the school. Each student had an opportunity to meet with Owners/Managers from each salon to hear about the benefits of working for that salon. The salons that participated were Looks, Regis, Smart Style, Hair Masters, Great Clips.

EQ participates in Celebrate CB

Students and Staff showed their support in the annual Celebrate CB parade. The student council sold water and students offered face painting to parade goers. Students promoted services by handing out coupons to the crowd.

Missing and Exploited Children

Students participated in a cut a thon to benefit Missing and Exploited Children. Students provided haircuts to customers for a donation of $4.00 or more. 100 % of the haircut dollars generated were donated to the cause.

Students Tour Manufacturing Company

In June students had the opportunity to tour Mirianna, a company that manufacturers products for the cosmetology industry. The tour gave students a first hand look and how products are formulated, mixed, and put into bottles for distribution. After the tour, shopping for bargain in the Country Store ! There were bargains galore !!

EQ Students Learn about Self Defense

Guy Blasing presented a program centered around self defense. He shares stories about various situations that occur and how to be aware of your surroundings. He also shares ways to protect yourself and what to do if you are ever in a dangerous situation. Students learned a lot of useful information.

Annual Student Outing

EQ Student Council hosted the annual Student Outing. Despite the morning rain, mother nature gave way to sun during midday so students could enjoy a catered lunch, and an afternoon of various games and swimming. The EQ employess kept with tradition by beating the students in a "friendly" game of Volleyball. GO EQ STAFF !!! It was a fun day.

CHART YOUR COURSE

On Monday EQ students attended "Chart Your Course" at the school. This gave students the opportunity to explore career choices other than being a salon designer that services clients in a salon. Each student was albe to speak first hand with a platform artist, makeup artist, educator, funeral home director, designer, product distributor owner. It was a great experience for all stuents and gave another look at the many opportunities a cosmetology license can provide.
